The QNAP TL-R1200S-RP is a high-performance 12-Bay SATA JBOD storage expansion enclosure with a 2U rackmount design. It is designed to expand storage capacity for compatible QNAP QTS/QuTS hero NAS systems, Windows computers and servers, and Ubuntu systems.

The enclosure features 12 hot-swappable 3.5-inch drive bays, support for compatible 3.5-inch SATA HDDs and 2.5-inch SATA SSDs, and 3 x SFF-8088 host interfaces for high-speed multi-lane SATA connectivity. Each connection provides four SATA 6Gb/s channels for reliable storage expansion and backup performance.

The TL-R1200S-RP is not a standalone NAS and is designed as a direct-attached storage expansion enclosure. It also features dual 250W redundant power supplies and 2 x 70mm active cooling fans, making it suitable for business and enterprise storage environments.

About This Product

The QNAP TL-R1200S-RP provides an efficient way to add high-capacity SATA storage to a compatible NAS, computer or server. Its 12-bay 2U rackmount chassis is suitable for centralized backup, archive storage, media storage and business data expansion.

The enclosure uses SFF-8088 connectivity, with three host ports corresponding to groups of four drive bays. It supports software-controlled storage management through Storage & Snapshots Manager when connected to compatible QNAP NAS systems, or QNAP JBOD Manager when connected to supported Windows and Ubuntu systems.

The TL-R1200S-RP supports storage configuration and RAID management through the connected host system. It can also be used with compatible third-party hardware RAID cards for supported hardware RAID configurations.
