The QNAP TL-R1620Sep-RP is an enterprise-grade 16-Bay SAS JBOD storage expansion enclosure with a 3U short-depth rackmount design. It is designed for expanding the storage capacity of compatible QNAP QTS/QuTS hero NAS systems and Windows servers using high-speed 12Gb/s SAS connectivity.

The enclosure features 16 hot-swappable drive bays supporting compatible 3.5-inch SAS/SATA HDDs and 2.5-inch SAS/SATA HDDs or SSDs. It includes four 12Gb/s SAS 3.0 Wide Ports with Mini-SAS HD SFF-8644 connectors, supporting multipath routing and daisy-chaining. It also supports Broadcom SAS DataBolt™ bandwidth optimization technology and compatible Broadcom/LSI SAS expansion infrastructure.
